SALT Report 3914 – The MTC is sponsoring a prospective amnesty program targeting online marketplace sellers. The amnesty program will begin on Thursday, August 17, 2017 and will close October 17, 2017. The following 24 states have agreed to participate –

- Texas
- Utah
- Vermont
- Wisconsin [8]
.Based on the amnesty terms a participating taxpayer will be targeting collection to commence no later than December 1, 2017.
Although many questions remain with respect to approaching the jurisdictions and the ability to minimize potential exposure in non-participating states the terms of this amnesty (prospective filing) make this a program worthy of consideration for the right taxpayers.
